This abstract work was created using a variety of media and techniques. Like the artist Heather Day, I reflected on my environment, not only recording it visually, but i engaged my senses to inform my mark making and create a sense of place.

this is a self portrait that reflects my interests my faith and who i am. for inspiration i looked at the artist Andrew Salgado and built my painting up with layers of watercolor washes , acrylic and pastel. It is A3 in size.

I like planets so we looked at lots of photos of them online and watched a couple of YouTube videos. Then I made my painting of the 8 planets in our solar system, plus the sun and the moon. I used water colour paint and stars glued on to A3 paper.

Fragile nature is about how delicate and fragile nature is and how as humans we can have the same fragile and delicate nature.

My work started by looking at the flower named ‘love lies bleeding ‘. It lead me into a study of what the plant symbolizes. I have developed ideas using Greek culture which was connected to the plant and Aphrodite.

The two works I have submitted are from a theme developed around botanical ideas. I looked at the use of psychedelics in witchcraft. Size is A4.

Acrylic on paper, A3 size. Painted as part of a portrait series for Year 10 art. I chose Billie as I felt she well represented the unconventional art style used, and chose colours I felt matched her striking presence.
